HIKING
10 minute drive from the house.! Survival Beach is a long stretch of sand in Aguadilla, with
some really neat rock formations along the shoreline. It is only a 30 to 40-minue hike along
a path through the trees and over rocks at the beach. It is not super easy, but most people
should be able to make the trek to enjoy this place. You must park at "surfers beach" then
venture into the woods! Locals are nice and welcoming so make sure to ask them what's the
best path to follow.
How to get there?
Type “Surfers Beach on Google Maps!
Parking: Park at surfers beach
Just a short walk from the house you will find the hidden valley of Playuela. A long stretch of undeveloped land filled with beautiful palm trees, native species, and a beautiful coast line. Ask our concierge for directions and take an exciting walk through the neighborhood!
A 45 minute car drive will take you to one of the most awe inspiring views on the island: a unique 60ft waterfall flowing over a gaping cave and descending into a large and deep pool of turquoise and emerald waters. Bring your bathing suit and go for a swim in this natural beauty immersed in the mountains of our tropical forests.. For those who seek the thrill, some of the audacious locals jump from the inside of the waterfall! If you want more, to the right of the main waterfall you will find a dirt path that borders the river and takes you up to another spectacular waterfall that showers into another beautiful pool. In here, you will also find a rope attached to a tree which locals use to swing themselves into the swimming hole! An easy stair-walk from the parking gets you there in 5 minutes. If you prefer the comfort of a having a tour-guide, then contact Verde Azul for a group expedition to this wondrous place.
BEACH
Located just a 5 minute drive from our luxury villas and right in front of our Cocoloba casitas Crash Boat is one of the most iconic, popular, and beautiful public beaches in Puerto Rico. Known by locals as “El Crash” this beach still has remains of the piers built by the armed forces decades ago !! Now these old piers serve as a fishing spot and for jumping into the water. Known for its sandy beach and crystalline waters el Crash is the best swimming spot in town! Crash Boat also has two large sand beach areas for general bathing. The beach is primarily accessed by taking PR-107 to a spur signed, PR-458 and counts with parking.
Borinquen beach is one of the most scenic beaches in town and our personal favorite. Perfect for beautiful sunsets. If you are looking for a quiet beach this is the one, wide open beautiful views and a picnic area with an ocean breeze. Located just a few hundred yards from the old lighthouse ruins, this beach is a great place to have a picnic lunch under the palm trees. It is a large beach, on both sides of the parking lot … I doubt you will ever feel crowded here! To access the beach take the 107 road north and turn left at the road that runs through the golf course. Parking on site.
Peña Blanca is located a walk or swim distance from our luxury villas. It is a small beach and it welcomes visitors from late May until August and depending on the tide. From fall to early spring, the tide goes all the way to the cliffs and the beach disappears. This is a natural phenomenon that happens in our region annually. Lucky ones to be the first to visit the beach for the summer season get to feel like they just discovered a new beach! Each year it looks a little different with a brand new thick carpet of clean sand. It is a naturally landscaped beach so visitors will find objects washed ashore. Over the past few years, this beach has gained popularity among Puerto Ricans and travelers searching for Puerto Rico’s special off the beaten paths. Playa Peña Blanca is a dreamy beach, set apart by its landscape and a place where you should consider snorkeling. You will walk down some old concrete steps leading down to a shaded area where you’ll stand to enjoy a panoramic view of this beautiful spot. A narrow pathway with concrete steps leads to the beach. Not much parking space available.
Located close to the town center and about a 10-15 minute drive from all of our properties. Rompeolas Beach offers some of the clearest water along the northwest coast of Puerto Rico with gorgeous shades of turquoise. Known for its rock jetty that was created to control the surf. The beach area closest to the jetty offers the best swimming water all year round. This beach spot is the best for small children in Aguadilla. Keep in mind there are no lifeguards on the beach, you swim at your own risk. Rompe olas is a popular beach among locals, but it doesn’t get as full as Crashboat. Summer time is the busiest with mostly local families. During the winter months, you may be sharing the beach with a few families and vacationers on weekdays. Parking available.
